H1 to F1 to H1 - 6 year validity question

I am presently on my third year on H1 and plan to go back to school next year on an F1 (student) visa. After I graduate and come back to the industry on an H1-B visa, will the 6 year limit restart or will I have only the difference (6-3 years) on my H1?

I essentially wanted to know if the 6 year limit gets reset if my visa status changes from H1-B to F1 and then back to H1-B?

Where can I find information in this regard?

I found a previous post with information that I'd be able to work only for the remaining balance when I go back on H1-B (http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=180196&highlight=f1+h1). Is there any place where I'd be able to ratify this information?

COS is not a break in your H1 6yrs duration.

To qualify 6 years new term you must out of US physically 1 year and must apply H1 fresh through quota.
