Situation:
I am working on H1B visa. I will complete 7 years on H1B in August 2007. In July 2006 I started doing executive MBA from a university (full time class load , but class meets only on Fri & Sat). Currently, I take time off from work on Friday. The MBA course will be over in May 2008.

My question:
(1) If my 8th year H1B extension is denied (for some reason) can I get a F1 visa so that I can complete my MBA.

(2) Can I continue to work Monday to Thursday (as I may not need sponsorship to work)

(3) Is there any limitation to physical place of work, number of hours to work etc. for F1 visa people.

(4) Can I work through any consulting compnay 'A' at any client location 'B' for 20 hours a week with the permission of the university. Continuing to study without working will cause economic hardship

Thanks

My question:
(1) If my 8th year H1B extension is denied (for some reason) can I get a F1 visa so that I can complete my MBA. Depends on your school & the program and you meet all the F1 requirements. (Proof of finance (Cash) for atleast one year study)
(2) Can I continue to work Monday to Thursday (as I may not need sponsorship to work). F1 is not allowed to work at any time at anywhere unless a work authorization is issued by USCIS
(3) Is there any limitation to physical place of work, number of hours to work etc. for F1 visa people. First of all you are not allowed to work under F1. See above
(4) Can I work through any consulting compnay 'A' at any client location 'B' for 20 hours a week with the permission of the university. (USCIS will not allow you under F1) Continuing to study without working will cause economic hardship.

Thanks

GreatGuru - Thanks for your response.

When I had started the program, the university had confirmed that the program does meet F1 requirements.

How does someone on F1 gets work authorization from USCIS ? Who does the paper work, universtiry or the
person using the F1
