We have gotten approval for tranfer of H1B VISA and now we have to send it for stamping. Is it possible to get the VISA stamped faster due to family emergency? My wife' dad died last month and seh was not able to go as we were in middle of VISA transfer, and my previous VISA was not stamped. So, since our new VISA has been approvede, is it possible to send her home as soon as possible. Can we hasten up the process? Please help.

A valid visa is not required to travel OUT of US. Your wife can apply for a visa when she travels to her home country.

Revalidattion of visa takes 6-10 weeks in Dept of State. I do not think they will do it any quicker due to family emergency.

Flame response warning

Although it is off track, it is cruel to not send a spouse when there is a bereavement. Was it just the additional 100-200$ you are going to spend in getting the visa stamped in the consulate or do you cannot afford her to wait for 2-3 months for her to come back or spend 1000$ for premium processing.
Sorry for the flame response.:o

1. My wife was not able to go as she did not have a valid H4 stamp on her passport and our lawyer had informed us that it would be hard to come back into the US.
2. We did apply for the premium process once we heard the news but then it was too late.
3. $1000 is a very big amt when you dont have a job for one year.

Next time avoid commenting on situations you know nothing about.
