H1 Stamping while H4 is still valid

Hi
I changed my status from H4 to H1 last octber(Oct 2004).
Now I am planning to go to India this october. My H4 is still valid till Feb 2006.
My question is :
Is it possible for me to get the H1 stamping over the existing H4
OR
I need to wait till Feb 2006 (When my H4 expires) to get my H1 stamping done.

Please suggest.

-------------- YES, you need H1Visa stamp to enter US on H1 status, if you enter with H4 visa stamp then you will get I-94 with H4 status
OR
I need to wait till Feb 2006 (When my H4 expires) to get my H1 stamping done.
----------- Get H1 visa stamp and enter with H1 status
Please suggest.

This clears the doubt that i do not need to wait till the H4 expires.
I can get H1 stamping over an existing H4.
Has any one got it done?

Is there any risk involved?
In case the H1 stamping is not provided can I enter in US with the my H4?

---- you can enter with H4 visa stamp if your spouse is on H1 status but you will not be able to work if enter with H4 stamp
