H1 stamp

Hello!
Would appreciate if you could answer a few questions for me on getting H1B stamp.

1) Is it any easier to get the stamp by going to Canada/Mexico counsulates than to a counsulate in one's home country(India in my case)?

2) Which of the two is quicker?

3) How long does it take to get an appointment and then get the stamp (post 9/11)?

4) What is it that the interviewer's are trying to determine at the interview? Is there a way to prepare for it?

Thanks for all your inputs.

What is your prior status? It all depends on the current status and whether you have a US degree or a prior H1 stamp.

H!B stamp

I have a Masters in Business Administration from an american university. This is the first time I have applied for an H1B.
Thanks.

Check nvars.com to get an appointment at a canadian consulate. Maximum of one more day to receive the pasport stamped with H1 is the turnaround time.
Find your US consulate in the web. The procedures, documents required are listed in many sites, threads in this forum and in the US consulate sites.
Documentation is the major requirement. With a US degree you do not have any handicaps in getting the visa in either place.
