Ginnu,

I want to revalidate my H1 visa from St Louis. My problem is my passport was stolen from my apt and I have the police report.I had an H1 stamp issued from canada and it was expiring in Jan 2004.But on the state travel department site its says (copied below) to reissue a visa the previous visa should have been revalidated/reissued in Washington.Does it mean that I cannot revalidate from St Louis.I'm assuming my case is a new visa revalidation and not a replacement.

Thanks

The Visa Office may reissue a lost or damaged visa ONLY if the:

1.visa is a E, I, H, L, O, or P visa, AND
2. visa was revalidated (or reissued) in the Visa Office, in Washington within the last 12 months, AND
3. applicant includes a copy of a police report or evidence substantiating loss, AND
4. applicant submits all the necessary documentation and fees as required for a new visa.

ginnu, jaxen, gurus can you please give me some of your experiences on the above issue. I really appreciate. Thanks

Do you have copies of your visa stamped pages of lost passport? Then you can try to get the visa stamped from St.Louis, otherwise you have to try it in an US consulate

Thanks jaxen for your reply. Can you please let me know what supporting documents do I need to submit along with police report besides the regular list of documents for revalidation.

Thanks again
