H1 Revalidation(Jim/Jaxen)

I applied for H1 revalidation on July 2nd week and got an RFE(221g) saying the "Previous Visa already reflects expiration date of I797".

I don't know what does this mean.

Any idea or suggestions why my revalidation
was returned without the new Visa and what I need to send to get a new H1 visa.

H1 Expiration: Jan'1st week 2003
Passport Expiration: 2005


Also, I am goint to India on November'15th-2002

Pls help.

you cannot send your passport for revalidation more than 60 days before your current visa expires. check the website for more details.

i would be obliged if you could let me know when you sent your applciation to st.louis and when it was returned since I am also waiting for my revalidation
 
Revalidation

I sent it during July 2nd week of 2002.

They never returned my money order too. So, now what is the option, since i am already plannned to go to India in Nov'02 and comming back by end of December.

Also, they just said that "Previous Visa already reflects expiration date of I797" and 60 day renewal condition as the reason for RFE.


Any help is really helpful.
 
you have two options

they mean that your I-797 is valid till january 2003 which is already reflected in your stamped visa. you can travle to india on this visa.
you have two options to renew the visa, either you can do it at the consulate in india, who will extend it till the new I-797 date or you can come back and send your passport for H-1 renewal after you come back.

do you know the exact date you sent it, I am asking this because I sent on tuesday the 9th and I know they usually process chronologically, so i am anxiously waiting

I just would like to know whether your DS-156 was printed in 2 pages or back and forth in 1 page. Mine was 2 pages and i read somewhere that they dont accept it. Is it true? Thanks for your reply.
 
jay333 when did u send ur visa revlaidation?

it takes about 8 weeks, and i have heard the same too
 
well INS doesnot really care if DS 156 form is printed on 1 page or not all they want is the information that too correct one I got my H visa from State Deptt. in excatly 6 weeks Had send DS 156 form in 2 pages and old fees of $45 my application was physically recd on May 31 the last day for the old fees and got my PP stamped and back in 6 weeks If paper work is right than one should get the PP back with stamp in it as long as all the documents mentioned on the web site are included my attorney was asking 600 bucks for the process and I did it my self

People have different attitude towards INS wokers if the case is filled properly most of the time if u call them they help infact I have called them ample number of times on ther 800 number and if the person answering the phone doesnot have answer they have connected me to ILO at TSC to help me with my querries.
the best thing is to contact INS for any quiries if ur case is taking longer than usual time and not to be scared/hesitant to talk to them:)
 
H1 and H4 Visa Revalidation. Please Help !!!

All,

I am planning to send my passport and my wife passport for H1 and H4 visa revalidation. Can I send certified copies of my I-94, I-797 and my wife I-94 and I-797 or I need to send all documents original?

Please advice.

u need to send all the originals and not xerox/certified copies they will send all ur I-94/I-797 back with the passport
