H1 revalidation and H4

Hai All,
My H1 visa stamp expires in september.I got extension for the same company till 2005.iam getting married in october.so do i need to have H1 stamping before the new H4 for my spouse is applied.or is not necessary.Also if needed do i need to apply only through drop box or both can go for interview at the same time.
can anyone share any advice or experience.

-------- You can send PP for revalidation of Visa from Department of state but they are taking 3 months it means you may not get your passport back before october
So do I need to have H1 stamping before the new H4 for my spouse is applied. or is not necessary.
--- ------it is better that you get Visa stamp in your home country after marriage or before marriage or you and your spouse both should get H1 stamped
Also if needed do i need to apply only through drop box or both can go for interview at the same time.
---------- For your wife it will be interview and if Chennai consulate then truk loads of documents

Thanks for your response.my question can we both book one appointment to get passport stamped or do i need to drop my passport first to get visa stamped.
