H1 renewal with Priority Date 1 month from being current

My priority date is in Jun '06 and USCIS has been processing EB2 applications prior to May '06 and this hasn't changed for the past 6 months. My EAD is due for renewal mid year 2012 and my H1B expires early April of this year.

1. Is there a value add in filing for an H1B renewal/extension given my current status?
2. What are the ramifications of an H1B rejection (considering that I move ahead with a renewal) if it were to happen?

Thanks!

let the employer file for H1 extension. you also file for EAD.

Thanks for your replies. I intend on moving forward with renewing my H1B. However, thinking thro' the worst case scenario, with the number of RFEs being issued for H1 approvals... Is there a chance that an H1B renewal can get rejected? and if so, would that have any impact whatsoever on my pending Adjustment of Status application (I-485)?

---Yes. they can ask any document from employer through RFE and employer should provide what is asked.

---- I-485 is for Future Job. GC is for Future job. Keep Valid EAD so that you can work on EAD if problems with H1 extension. If EAD not applied or going to expire aplly for EAD as back up.
