I came here on F1, finished two Masters degrees here in the United States and got employed on an H1 visa. I have been on H1 visa since January 2000. My employer sponsored my trip to Vancouver in August of 2000 to stamp my passport due to international business travel and I got the stamp. In August 2002 I revalidated with DOS for the remaining period till 3rd January 2003. My company has since applied for H1 renewal and I have the receipt notice with me.
My question is, can I still go to Canada to revalidate when I get my approval notice? This is because it takes a long time for the DOS to revalidate these days. This is because I need to visit my family as soon as I get my renewed H1 in less than a month from now and I do not want to do it in my home country. I will be most grateful for your response(s).
