H1 planning to marry GC who is applying for citizenship

I am on my first year of H1B and my boyfriend is in the fifth year of his GC and is eligible to apply for his citizenship in May 2007.

I would like to know when is the best time for me to marry
1. before May 2007
2. While he has applied for his citizenship
3. after he gets his citizenship

and what is the procedure for me to apply for GC under family quota and how long would it take

Looking forward to some wisdom.

Does not make difference whichever way you go.
 
I got married to GC holder last year and we are just starting his naturalization process. He's been a GC holder 3 months shy of 5 years and that's when you can apply.

My lawyer said it would take around 6 months for him to get the citizenship if everything goes well. Then it should take 3-9months for me to get GC through him.

I don't think it matters which way you do it first.
