Hey Guys...
I posted in another thread that my employer is currently holding on to my I94 that I need for transferring to another company.
Now, from what I understand, legally the document belongs to me. So, him asking for money for a document that already belongs to me is blatant extortion and very illegal.
Would it be intelligent of me to bring the cops in this matter? Let's say I'm supposed to meet my employer to "exchange" the money with the docs... can I let the police know abt the exchange.. so that they make sure that I get my documents without me having to pay for them.. I already talked to a local precinct and they agree that it's a case of extortion.
Can my employer do anything against me if this might be the case? I've already gotten another employer who're waiting for the I94 to apply for a transfer.
What do you guys suggest?
