H1 notice of approval for 6 yrs

as far as i know, an H1 approval notice is good for 3 yrs and extendable to 6 yrs. if one transfers employer, and gets a new H1 notice, will he get a new 3 yrs extendable to 6 yrs again?
 
o dont quite understand, im sorry. total time meaning the total years for all employers summed up? she can have as many employers she wants but the stay should total only 6 yrs all in all?
