H1 Newbie Here

Hey

The company I will be working for is taking care of my VISA. Attorney sent my petition to the company to be signed. I believe they're in the process of processing everything for my H1 visa. They started on April 23rd. How long does it usually take for any H1 documents to arrive? Do you receive the letter and documents that says I'm on H1 but will activate in October 1st? Or do i get the documents just a week or a few weeks before October? I know quote opened in April 1st, so I'm probably in the first batch of people who are applying for it?

If someone can let me know, i'd greatly appriciate it. Thank you!!!!

The H-1B petition to USCIS doesn't start right away. First there has to be a prevailing wage to be requested, then apply for LCA with DoL. Finally, H-1B petition will be made. If the process just began, then it takes nearly 4-6 weeks before the petition.

H-1B process by USCIS takes from 3 months - 6 months. The approval notice will be sent immediately it is approved. However, the start date will be the date mentioned in your I-129 (H-1B petition).
