i am new to this forum. I need help/advice on H1/H4 visa stamping.
- my husband and i came to the US on B1/b2 visas respectively last May, our visas were stamped at Chennai, since his company was based in bangalore.
- Last year july the company closed their bangalore operations and gave employment to most of its engineers at their US office.
- Since we were in the US already, we got our visas transferred from B1/b2 to H1/h4 respectively. We have the receipts.
- This april my husband changed his job and we got our h1/h4 transferred which is valid till 2007.
- We are planning to visit india, delhi-chandigarh, this August, the BIG question is:
- Does it really matter which consulate we will go to in India.
- My husband's passport was issued in Chandigarh, but his B1 visa was stamped in Chennai as his employer in India was in Bangalore, now that company doesnt exist and his employer is a US based company
- My passport was issued in Bangalore and my B2 visa was in Chennai.
- Do we have to go back to Chennai for H1/H4 visa stamping or can we go to Delhi, since my husband's residential address in India is Chandigarh?
Please advise as soon as possible as we will also have to take appointment at the consulate.
