H1 & H4 Stamping in Canada

I am planning to go toronto for H1 & H4 (wife) stamping in Feb 10, 2006. We both still have valid visa stamped till march 2006. My question is, will consulate cancel my current visa stamping if they did not issue new visa stamping. Will I be able to get back in to US since I will have 20 more days left on my current visa?

Please help.
 
from my exp, toronto allows h1 stamping atmost 10 days in advance of your new I797 date.
why do you want to go so much in advance of the new I797 date?

I had booked early for interview. I did not know there was any issue with "atmost 10 days in advance of your new I797 date" . Where will I be able to find more information?.
 
does your appt letter not say this?
call nvars.com and specifically ask this question.

did you cancel and make another one or just an additional appointment?
what did the cust service people tell you?

I still have not recieved copy of my new I797. I had applied for visa extension in sept 05 and got approved in dec 05. I am waiting to see the valid dates on my new I797 to pick an interview.

I did not call customer service (it is costly!). It is clearly written on the website.
 
can you book multiple appointments? I thought you would need to cancel one before booking the other.
also which center did you apply for extension?
