H1/h4 pending new J1/J2

Dear Rajiv,

Please help us with the following concern.

My husband is an engineer, his H1 got approved in 2008 lottery, went for visa stamping in Jan 09 for H1/ H4, got 221-g.
Company not sending documents mentioned in 221-g.
we have sent application for withdrawal to new delhi embassy yesterday.

I am a doctor got selected for IM residency... want to apply J1 and J2.

Please let us know how much time can withdrawal of application takes....also will there be any issue while going for J1/J2 stamping regarding our H1/H4.

Please help us as soon as you may.....dont know whom to consult.

Even if you already on H here in US, it is quite easy to request to switch to J. Apply for the withdrawal and whatever the time it will take will not affect your application for J. You can start the J process righ now if you have the paper work ready and forget about the H.
