My wife is on an H1B visa and wants to transfer to H4 in January 2008. She will apply for a new job and switch back to H1 with a starting date of Jun 2008. We would like to visit India during May 2008. She has been working on H1 for 2 years, but does not have her visa stamped on her passport. My H1 visa has expired and my renewal has been approved.
1) Should she get her H1 stamped before applying for COS to H4?
2) Should I get my H1 renewal stamped before she applies for COS?
3) If she switches back to H1 on a new job, will she have to get the H4 stamped before switching back?
4) If she switches to H4 without getting the old H1 stamp on her passport, will she have any problems getting a new H1?
