h1 for 2005 question

Hi Rajiv,

My OPT expires in June 2004, legally I can stay until Aug 2004.
I will apply for H1 on April 1 2004. I am also thinking of applying for F1 as a back-up for the area from Aug to Oct 2004. I read on one of the posts that H1's will be processed and given out before Oct 2004 with a start date of Oct 1 2004 and onwards. Is this true? If this is true, then if I can get my H1 before Aug 2004 can I stay legally till Oct 2004. Also if I apply for F1 and my F1 arrives after the H1 does it mean the H1 has been cancelled?

Also if I apply for F1 and my F1 arrives after the H1 does it mean the H1 has been cancelled?

++++++++++++++++Not canceled, but arguably changed back to F-1. May be. Too many variables.
