H1 filling question: Did I make it on time or not?

Dear Mr.Khanna,

I'm a recent college graduate who got Bachelors in Computer
Engineering from a college in the US. I recently joined a company(Dec.) who applied for a H1b on Feb 13th(INS Received it on 13th as it says on the return receipt but online status says it was received on 18th Feb which is after Feb 17th, the cap day).
But they have given me a processing number and it says it will take between 150 to 180 days for processing. Does that means I have made it at least to the processing part?

Also, my employer filed for an ordinary processing while my OPT expires on July 27th. I was wondering if there any harm in applying for a premium one now with a processing number as I might be switching companies and I want my H1b in my hand asap.
Or can I switch companies which my H1b is being processed?

Thanks,

Best regards,

Alex

Apply for premium. You should make it.
