h1 Extention !!! Help Gurus

Hello Gurus,

Currently I am in pending 485 status.

My h1-b six years expires on Sept. 2002
I already have EAD and already applied for extension for one more year.

my question is

(1) I heard from people that Once you are in 485 status and you have valid EAD, I don't need to renew my h1-b on 7th year.?
OR
(2) Do I need to renew my h1-b on 7th year.?

Please clerify?

1 is correct....

If you have EAD during 485 you do not need h1 to work.
