H1 Extension - VSC

I am on H1 which expires in less than 120 days. The VSC currently takes between 90 and 120 days for processing H1 extension.

Question 1) Is it ok to file for H1 extension now and wait for approval even if the approval date will be beyond my current H1 last date ? what is the risk involved ?

2) Should I spend $1000 from my pocket and file thru premium processing ?

Any suggestions ?

As long as u have filed for ur H1 extension before ur current H1 expires, u are in legal status. U just need to have the receipt from the BCIS for the H1 filed to continue working.
I u think, u dont want to wait for 4 months for the H approval, u can go for premium processing.

You have enough time.... for normal processing....

Even Premium Processing also dont expect them work on ur case in 15 days...

They comeup with some silly RFE... after 10 days then
after u reply to it.... they start the ticking of 15 days fresh....

No guarantee of not sending another RFE to delay the process again....

If u want to make sure they are attending ur case regular basis... u can go for PP ... but not for approving....
