Hi All,
I have a few questions regarding the extension of my H1
1. My current visa expires on November 14th 2006. Can I apply for an extension of H1 6 months prior to November i.e., on May 14th 2006?
2. If I apply for premium processing how long does it take to get the new approved I-797 in hand?
3. Can I go out of the country in June 2006 and re-enter without any problem in August 2006 (I have a valid visa till November 2006 from the current H1 and before I leave I am assuming that I would have got the new I-797 for the extension that will be applied in May 2006)
4. When I re-enter the US in August 2006 at the port of entry should the new 1-94 issued by the officer have a date of the current I-797 that is valid till November 2006 or the new approved I-797.
5. Also when I go out of the country in June 2006 should I had over the 1-94 that was stapled on my passport which I had received when I had landed in the US the last time or should I also hand over the 1-94 of the new approved I-797
I would really appreciate and be obliged if I could get any feedback.
Thanks and Regards,
Sandy.
