H1 extension & H1 transfer

Hi

I am working for company A. My current H1 will expire some time in May. If my company is gong to process my H1 extension say about in March and I get another job offer from Company B after the H1 extension filed by my current employer.

In this case

a) Should I wait till I get H1 get extended by my current employer
b) While my H1 petition is in process can company B apply for H1 transfer?

Will there be any risk of getting into visa invalid status issues and will it affect my GC filing in future.

Please help me.

-----that is better option(you can also get extension in 20-25 days if use premium processing)one can file extension 6 months advance
b) While my H1 petition is in process can company B apply for H1 transfer?
