My 6 year term is ending on 1st NOV 2001. I have sent papers for filing 485 on August 1st. But it might be quite a while before I receive EAD from NSC. Hence, I believe it is safer to file for a H1 extension since beyond 1st Nov until EAD, I will not have a visa to work. Now the new INS rules allow a person to file for an extension under these circumstances. Anyone, please provide comments on this.
