H1 expiring - what r other options ?

Hi, H1 (I94 as well) expiring within 4 weeks. If current company does not renew H1 what are other options to remain in status and look for another employer - can we switch to b1 , tourist, etc, and when should we apply for such status change ?

status change should be applied for before the day of expiry. Choose your option and prepare all documents and file the day before expiry of I94
