my I-797 and H1b visa expire on june 1, 2004. (first 3 year H1, so i have 3 more years to go)
i believe i need to start the revalidation process now. will someone guide me to the process?

a. when can i start the process? right now or i have to wait until 6 months before the end date?

b. H1 petition extension: what forms and where to submit them for H1 extension? What documents are needed?

c. H1b visa revalidation (from St Louis): explained on BCIS website: http://travel.state.gov/hlop.html
so i think this this would not be a problem

---- You need H1 extension from BCIS, Visa Stamp revalidation is done by DOS

Your employer can file H1 extension 6 months advance of your H1 expiry date count the 6 months before June 1, 2004 and file with BCIS
b. H1 petition extension: what forms and where to submit them for H1 extension? What documents are needed?
-- Your employer has to get new LCA for you from DOL and will use the form I-129 with support documents, pay the fees and will send it to BCIS service center. I don’t know your service center as I don’t know where is your employer office or where you are residing or working. H1 extension is taking 4-6 months at this time

---- First get the H1 extension from BCIS and BCIS will send new H1 extension with new I-94 extended and then you can revalidate the visa stamp from St Louis/ DOS in US in your passport if you had earlier H1 stamped in your passport from your home country
