I received my EAD a month back and My H1-B expired a week ago(6 years). But I want to keep my H1B extension for 7th year so that If my I-140 is in trouble , I can go back to my H1B. Can I apply for my H1-B now? I heard from someone that there is a way of applying. Anybody faced this situation before? Thanks in advance.

any big vacations in last 6 years

you can use any big vacations to extend your 6th year visa and then at the same time apply for 7th year extension. you should have consulted a lawyer just a week before then it would have been a smooth for you but I guess its not too late if get qualified! Talk to lawyer first!
good luck!

--- 1.if you have valid I-94 based on H1 then you can apply 7th year H1 extension before I-94 gets expired IF I-94 is expired then you canot apply H1 extension,
2, if I-94 is expired then apply fresh H1B and you will NOT get I-94 attached or extended then go out of US get H1 visa and enter on H1 status( even if you used EAD)
go to good lawyer
