H1-B visa stamp (passport expire)

Dear experts and gurus

Please clear my doubts...

I am visiting India for 2 week next month and planning for H1-B visa stamping too. But the doubt is my passport is getting expired in 15 months and my visa on petition is valid for next 2 years.

According to Indian consulate rules i can only apply for the passport renewal if and only if less than an year left on expiry of passport.

So in this situation if i go for visa stamp next month then for how long or till which date i will get the Visa stamp? its till passport expiry date or whatever valid visa date in petition...

please help....

Most likely the visa given will be valid until the passport's validity.

I am currently in a similar situation. can you please reply back or post your experience (what was the H1B stamping validity? Was it PP expiry date or H1B petition expiry date ?
