H1-B Visa revalidation?

I received my H-1B approval notice for my H-1B transfer visa before 7 months but I did not transfer my I-94. My previous H1-B visa valid 1/30/2003. Is it possibility I want to visit Canada? Please tell me any problem occurs in border or not. Or Is it possible to obtain my updated stamp from the Department of State in Washington DC by mail? How do I do this?

you should have received I94 along with H1 approval

If so you need not worry. If not, your job with the new company since the H1 approval might be considered illegal. If U have the I94 and it is less than 1 yr from the new H1 approval date you can get it revalidated from Dept of state
See http://travel.state.gov/visa_services.html and click on revalidation.

If you did not receive I94

didn\'t the lawyer tell you you need to go out of the country and get a new I94 before working. If you have been working for the new comapny past 7 months, then you are in illegal status.
Find out a lawyer and show your H1 approval and find what your options are.
