Got H1 stamping finally at delhi
delhi embassy experience for 221(G)
initially gave the papers to tt services - they have a folder where you can put
various forms (I129 , labor etc). TT services at delhi do not accept original forms.
At other consulates they do.
Got a 221(g) reject. Got more company documents. The rejection letter also mentioned
the time at which to go to the embassy. One does not have to take an online appointment.
Submitted the papers at the embassy (actually at a window outside the embassy at the specified time 12:00 pm)
They called me for an interview at 2 pm. At the interview, you are made to sit until your name is called
That can take anywhere from a few minute to approx three hours.
Visa officer just asked for offer letter of the company (it was acquired). I had to explain the merger / acquisition law to satisfy her.
Also met with a couple of other persons in similar situation.
One reason for the rejection was expiry of the previous visa while in US (that is not illegal
but post 9/11, they still want to interview you.)
Other was B1- H1 transfer
All were approved
