Hi all,

i have few questions . i have been working in US for some time i have been on bench for 2 months. i got a new job offer and i wanted to tranfer but sinc ei was on bench for 2 months they say i am technically out of status so they want to apply for new H1 B.
I wanted to take appointment in chennai. since i dont have my new h1 yet i am waiting for that right now. how soon can i get chennai appointment ??
has anyone done that and if i wasnt it earlier is there a way to go to delhi or calcutta?? what the procedure for that???
Since i am from hyderabda how can i attend in delhi?? please advise i need to join the company soon its already getting delayed so please advice.

If you dont get one or if it is belated you can go to New delhi or calcutta and apply. All the How to-s are in the site.
Do you have the new h1 approval in hand? Did the lawyer do a consular notification? If so which consulate? that will be crucial too.
 
Well since i am from hyderabadits addressed to chennai consulate. if i want to go to delhi consulate should it be addressed to delhi consulate??? please advise.

As per the new effective rule from today u can appear in any consulate in india for stamping even though if you are from Hyd.If the visa catergory is same then u can still use drop box facility.
 
Can you give me the link where they said about the new rule that i can apply for visa appointment anywhere in India??? help will b really appreciated.
