Hi there,
I had sent my passport to INS for visa stamping. But it was returned back as the photographs did not meet the specifications. Along with the passports, I got my original documents I had sent.
If I send them back with a proper photograph, should I send a Money Order again? I did not receive the money orders I had sent. Does this mean, INS will just accept the documents this time?

I am from Bangalore. If I goto India, do I need to goto Chennai for visa stamping (if I don't get it stamped in the US) or can I use the drop box facility?

Thanks in advance for any information...

send money order too.
You can get from India also.
But I would recommend getting it from here if you have time.

NOTE:THIS NOT A LEGAL ADVICE .USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

I'm reposting my message from H Visa Revalidation Tracker (St. Louis/ Washington DC) Thread for your benefit:

On Friday (Dec 6), I recd. my and my spouse's Passports back from DOS with NO Visa Stamping. I got this back from Washington DC even though our applications were received at St. Louis on Oct 11th. The reason cited by the DOS Officer in the attached letter is as follows:

"We are unable to process your Non Immigrant Visa at this point of time under Section 221(g) because the photographs you sent are not in conformance with the requirement (should be less than 6 months old). Please send back all the documents with new applications and photographs to the Washington DC address mentioned above. No Machine Readable Visa fee payment is required to be made again".

I have sent the applications back with new photographs last Monday (Dec 9) and the waiting has resumed. I have not sent the fees again because the letter that DOS sent clearly said so.

I will post updates on my case in the H Visa Revalidation Tracker (St. Louis/ Washington DC) Thread when I hear anything from DOS.

Good Luck with your case.

Hi ,

It happened to me too though for a different reason. In my case they wanted a more recent letter from my employer stating that I am being employed by them. The rejection letter sent by the Visa services clearly stated that it was a temporary refusal.

Though I was advised by my employeer as well as the attorney to send fresh money orders again( in mycase also the money orders originally sent by me were not returned and cashed ) it was promptly returened back after it was stamped the second time.

IF you are planning a trip to India, then I would ask you to get it done from the consulate there as it will save you lots of time.
