My current H1-B expires on 4/15/03 (first 3 years). I plan to renew it in the next few days. I have a couple of questions and appreaciate all the help that i can get...
(1) The current processing times @ VSC is 9/2/03. This is tight and my renewal might not kick in time. However, i have heard that one gets an automatic 8mth employment authorization extension once the forms are filed with the service center. Is this true? Please advise.
(2) Is there any portability when one, who is possesion of a valid H1-B gets fired or laid off - can he/she look for new work,obtain a new H1-B and still be in status.
