I have a question about the cap on H1-B visas... I've been on an H1-B visa for 9 months (01/01-09/01) after which I changed over to F-1
status. After finishing my current degree if I wish to obtain another H1-B visa will I be counted against the cap ? Or is it that because I have been counted once in the past six years I can avoid being counted against the cap ?

Yes.

It will be counted against the CAP at that time..since you will be doing a COS from F1 to H1.

Also you will have 5 yrs - 3months left.
