Hi all

Heard some rumors that around 50000 H1 B visas have been issued towardss the 65000 quoto for 2004-2005

Can any one please let me know if this is true - and if there is a way to find out the number of visas already used for 2004-2005
 
i think this rumor is based on the statement made in Indian parliament by the NRI minister there that Indians have been awarded 50,000 visas this year. That is not true for calendar year 2004 but true for 2003.

the last released data by USCIS revealed 16,000 visas granted but this was 6-8 weeks ago.
