H1 B question ?

I recently got my J1 waiver, I am currently doing research. I need to join residency at a hospital in May next year (2003).

So do I continue on J1 and apply for H1 when I need to join residency in May or do I apply for a H1 now and continue until May and apply for New H1 ( as different employer and also different job) or Transfer then ?

Can anyone explain what is best ?

you can continue on the J1 for now, and get a new H1 at the time of joining residency. Make sure you dont join the residency on another J1.
