H1 B extension

Hi everyone,
My H1B will expire on 07/01/04. Just couple of days back my labour certification for green card has been approved. Now i am preparing the documents for I-140 and I-485. hopefully i will send everyhting by this month end to vermont INS. my question is that,
how long shall i wait for the EAD to be approved before i apply for my H1 extension ? if i am not wrong, i dont have to apply for H1 extension after i receive my EAD ??

my question is that,

----- EAD approval has nothing to do with sending H1 extension; both are different petitions, you should file H1 extension before your I-94 expires. One can also file H1 extension 6 months advance of H1 expiry date.
if i am not wrong, i dont have to apply for H1 extension after i receive my EAD ??
-------- I would apply for H1 extension and would like to be on H1 status till the date my I-140 is not approved. If due to any reason your I-140 has RFE then BCIS will not issue EAD till they are convinced with RFE reply. If due to any reason I-140 is denied then EAD, AP, I-485 all will be denied and you will have no status to work or stay in US, better file for H1 extension and maintain H1 status and wait for I-140 approval and don’t use EAD.Be safe.
