H1 B extension

Hi all,
My H1B is expiring on 1st July 2004. I am planning to apply for extension by March end. Is that sufficient time to do so ?
And do i have to send my wife's passport for H4 extension since her H4 also expiring at the same date?

---- One can file H1 extension 6 months advance
And do I have to send my wife's passport for H4 extension since her H4 also expiring at the same date
----- You have to extend her H4 status, lawyer or your wife has to fill up form I-539 and pay the USCIS fees $140. Send your wife H4 extension with your H1 extension in same package, inform lawyer that you have spouse on H4 and her H4 status need to be extended, many don’t remind this to lawyer and forget extension of H4 status. File her H4 status extension with your H1 extension papers to USCIS
