H1 B Extension at Toronto

Hi,
My 1st 3yr extension (my H1 is valid upto 2010, first expiry in sept 08) is coming up. I want to go to Toronto for extension.
I'm working in NYC, and have No US degree.

1) Is it wise to go to Canada for H1 extension even if I don't have a US degree?

2) Since I hold a US VISA, do I need a Canadian VISA to enter Canada?
I read somewhere that a US VISA is sufficient to enter canada provided I enter through any country in North America!!

3) If I drive upto toronto - what is the procedure involved at the border? I have a transfer(I changed jobs but didn't get visa stamped) I-797 receipt with an I94 + an I-94 which was given to me when I entered the states. Do I have to surrender both I 94s at border?

Please help

Thanks

--------------You want to go to Toronto for VISA STAMPING not for extension

----------------------you can try, many got H1 visa from US consulate in Canada
2) Since I hold a US VISA, do I need a Canadian VISA to enter Canada?
--------------------Yes, Yes you need Canada visa
I read somewhere that a US VISA is sufficient to enter canada provided I enter through any country in North America!!
------wrong info. where did you read that??

----------------when you drive from US to Toronto you will face Canada immigration and show your Canada Visa , if asked why you need to visit Toronto tell the truth. Canada immigration is not going to ask or take you I-94

Please help

Thanks

Thanks for the reply friend.

for my question #1 : I know I have to go for stamping (apologies - didn't put that across correctly!!). What I meant was :
Do I need a US degree if I have to get my VISA stamped in Canada? Or should I have to go back to my home country's US consulate?)

I've read some cases where the consulate interviewer(in Canada ie) asking for a US degree during the interview.

--------------------many who dont have US degree also got H1 Visa stamped from Canada and I know about 15-20 cases

------------------- US degree is NOT must for getting Visa stamped from Canada. search the threads. US consulate sites in Canada dont say that you must have US degree for Visa stamping
