H1 B extension - 3 Years But approved 1 year only

Bad experience with USCIS

Hi Guys

The officer promissed to reissue the notice with 3 years has called my attorney office again. He said my case is not eligible for 3 years, as my I 485 is not pending, which is weird :confused:
My attorney office is going to fax to USCIS and Director of USCIS to explain how my case is eligible for 3 years. Let me wait and see :mad:
 
Why not we all give them the training over the weekends on the law and rules. I think we know better than those %%&&***
 
Okay let me ask you this, I received the receipt notice of the 7th year extension of my dependents. It looks little different than it used to be earlier. It is 2 paged, and the second page it says
Class : Returning WKR
in front of my wife's name. Does this sounds familier to you guys ?

It shows the same in one of the courtesy notice in my wife's H4 approval notice and in another copy it does not show anything like this. Mmmmm :confused: I don't know what does it mean!
 
Are you saying in one of the approvals shows retruning wkr in your wife's class, and other one doesn't show that ?

INS does not have to give any of us 3 years. The ac21 and 2005 gates memo clearly said "up to 3 years." . So only thing we can do is to fight hard and hope the best.

Yes They sent 2 courtesy copies to dependants. My wife applied H4 extension including two sons.

It should mean Returning Worker (WKR). But why is it mentioned in H4, as they cannot do jobs here in H4. I hope it does not reflect the job they have in India :-)

I got a good news from Attorney's office. USCIS approved my H1 extension for 3 years after the FAX sent by Attorney's office to USCIS. Thanks for Mr. Khanna and his team. They gave extension to my family only for two years, as my first son becomes 21 years in end of 2007. Thanks to all of you for providing some information and for the moral support that you have extended to me when I was sinked with this mentally. :)
 
really happy for you to get the good news in front of X'mas eve. Happy holiday!! Will you use the saved money on future every year h-1b extension to buy gifts for kids? ;)

Thanks nonogc. Sure I will spend for my kids. Even spending all these money in GC are for them only :)
 
Cost benefit of 3 year H1B extension over EAD&AP

How much is the filing fee for H1&H4 extension (3year exten due to retrogression) ?

Based on my PD (June 2005, EB2-India) it takes atleast 3 years for my pending 485 approval.

Is it advisable (based on cost) to file a 3 year H-1B extension and visa stamping and not renewing EAD & AP?

I have been advised to keep H1 extension also even if we get our EAD. But unfortunately, I could not file my I 485. So I need to go with H1 extension anyway :)
