H1 B Approval Extension

Any help would be very much appreciated..


1. My current H1 B approval notice ( I-797) and the stamp on my passport expire on Dec 31st 2003 and my new contract goes till May2004. Iam planning to go to India in November 2003 and get married. Will I be able to get the new approval notice before I leave for India if I applied now? How long does the renewal of I 797 take as compared to issuance of a new I 797?

Now about my would be wife's H$ processing:
Can I process my new H1B stamping and her H4 processing simutaneously ( ie: If i get my new approval notice before I leave)
.
My other option is to leave immediately ( end of this month) and get her here with my current H1B and I 797 and worry about extension after I come back here.
What do u think of this option?

This is a service center specific question. 3 months might not be enough in most service centers. However, you can spend 1000$ more and do premium processing.
If you get new H1, you can do H1 and h4 together at the US consulate.
If go and get married without doing the extension, most probably your spouse might be made to wait at home country for your H1 approval, before even US consulate takes up the H4 case.

how long did your H1-B renewal process take? was it from nebraska? if so,i applied in sep 2nd week..am hearing 45-60 days,but no confirmation as such
