H1 approval pending

I havent received H1 approval since 4 months. My OPT expires in sep 25th.
Are they taking lot of time for background check or something?
 
Hi Almas, Its the same with me. I havent heard since Nov 22 2006. I have applie in June and pp'd it on October 31st. They sent me an RFE on 22nd Nov. I dont see any update on the net about the response received and since then no more LUD.
 
Received an RFE this week. Will reply to is asap and premium process it...hopefully , I should get a reply fast. OPT expired already, im on the 60 days grace period and will reinstate my I20 and take classes over the summer if my h1 is denied so that we can reapply on April 1st. Does that sound right, would that be an option. Also, any help would be appreciated on my RFE. Please email me if you can advise on PR Specialist position for a small law firm.

Almas- not bad situation. Hope you do the best and goodluck. For my case they asked RFE and sent the letter to me since Feb 1, but I haven't received yet and my J1 will be expired on Feb 28. University said I can stay during the period of pending case on H1 petition. So, you won't be out of status until end of case either approval or denial for next application. You might need to enroll at that time, correct? Anyway, goodluck.
How long did you wait for your RFE from they did decision to ask additional evidence?
 
Maharajar, good luck with everything. have u received your RFE? My RFE was sent on feb.1st and I received it on Feb. 9th. We are mailing the response on Feb 21st. I hope everything will be fine. at the same time i am P.processing it, but whether it is denied or approved, i will have to extend my I20 because the decision from USCIS will def. come after my 60 day grace period on my F1. Does anyone know how long I can wait after my new I20 is issued to start classes? Isnt there like a 5 months rule? thanx
