H1 Applied (Not yet approved) for H4 and H4 is expiring.

Hi,

I am on H1 and my wife is on H4. A H1 visa is applied for my wife and it is not yet approved. But my H1 is expiring soon and so her H4.
What are my options now and what is the impact? If we apply for her H4 extension? Will it nullify her existing H1 application?
Will she be able to work on H1 If we apply for H4 extension and her H1 gets approved before/after her H4 extension is approved?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

--------- be clear when you post. did your wife H1 is filed Change of status from H4 to H1 or it is NEW H19if you dont know ask the lawyer or employer who filed her H1)

H-1 is applied with COS from H-4 to H-1. Applied in June 2005, but has not been approved yet! H-4 expires Nov 1st 2005. Need to apply for H-4 extension.Start date on the applied H-1 is Oct 1st 2005.
