H1 and L2 at same time

hello friends,
I have a unique situation.
I have got my H1 visa stamped a few weeks back from a company in US. I am presently in India.
Now my husband's company wants to send him to US on L1 visa. They even want me to join the company in US on L2 as L2 have work authorisation.
As per my understanding, a person can have multiple visas, but he can have only one status if he enters US.
I wanted to know whether, if I go for L2 stamping, will my H1 get cancelled.
Because I am planning, that if i dont like the work I will shift to H1 status and join the employer who got my H1.
Also, in any case , will it happed that if L2 gets rejected due to any reason, they will cancel my H1 also.
evrybody else please advice.

It is most likely your H1 will be stamped "cancelled w/o prejudice" when you get L2 stamp. It may depend on consulate though, when I got my H1 stamp at US consulate in my country, my previous L1B gets "cancelled w/o prejudice" on it.
