Hello all,
I have been working on H1 (changed from F1 to H1) for the past one and a half years and very recently I have changed my employer and my transfer got completed. Now im planning to get married in December and I will be going to India for the first time H1 stamping along with my wife for H4. I have never been in "out of status" situation and I have all the W2s and all other documents required (paystubs and so on). However my employer is paying me lot more (almost double) than what has been filed in the LCA (minimum pay), will that cause any problem. Does anyone of you see an advantage of me going to Canada for stamping over India. Im a bit tensed up and I have enough time to decide on the things. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

more salary should not be the problem, because there are two salries usually on the LCa one the minimum and one proposed look at both. if the salary is little more than the proposed then no problem. Otherwise too more salary is not a problem, less is.
the other thing is that ur wife will have to go to the consulate to get her H4, its always better if you need a stamp then you go with her. This way you can both answer any questions together, and the officer gets to see ur reactions.
