H1 and B1 processing at the same time

Hi All,

A consultant in USA has filed a petition for my H1.
Application has reached INS and I have receipt number. INS has not approved
my petition as yet.

My company wants me to go to USA on B1 and my company is asking me to apply for B1 (I had B1 visa earlier - which was for one year. That has expired).
I am in Bangalore(India) right now.

1. Can I apply for B1 and go to USA on B1 while my H1 processing is on?
2. Will they come to know that I have applied for H1 already and I am applying for B1 also?
3. Can I go to USA on B1 while my H1 processing is on?
4. Can I come back to India before H1 visa interview date and go for H1 visa interview?
5. Will this affect my H1 processing later when I go for H1 VISA interview?
