H1 7th year extension really needed after I140 approval ?

Guys,
Here is my situation.
My 6 year H1 expired on October 6th 2004.
7th year extension applied on August 12th 2004 and still pending with INS.
In the mean time my I140 got approved on September 20th.
My I485 is not yet filed.
Do I really need the 7th year extension considering the fact that I140 has been approved before the completion of 6th year period ?
Or I need it since I haven't applied I485 yet ?
Appreciate your help.

Or I need it since I haven't applied I485 yet ?
