H-I stamping in Chennai pls advice

I got H-1 thru my company in 1999(stamped in Mexico). I renewed it 2001 and have I797 approval notice till 12/2004. My GC is pending (NVC will be sending packet 3 in a few weeks, chennai interview for CP probably in 4-5 months). I was always in status and have no "employment" issues. Any major risk in traveling to India to visit sick family member and getting H-1 stamped in Chennai. Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

As far as chennai concern if you have all your documents in proper shape you dont need to worry ..
Check all your w2 and lca should match ..
To be safe side pls go with all our documentation stuff ..

One other question- is there any other way to look at the open dates for appointments calender for chennai consulate interview without entering all the details like passport details etc. thru tts web site.
 
There is a way ..; But i dont knwo how it works .. People are talking about that in other threads .. Pls look in to that..
