H! and employer responsibility

If a EAD is approved is it wise to change over to EAD or continue on the H1 for a few months.

My H1 is expiring soon - should I change over to the EAD or try get it extended.

What is the employers responsibilty for H1 fees - are they "legally" responsible for all fees?

wisdom is subjective. If the GC sponsoring employer is the same as your H1 employer the employer is not under any obligation to pursue only H1.
 
stay on H1

It is always better to be on H1 and have a EAD as insurance. If you have to travel..it is better to travel on H1 so that you are not inspected as much as you would be on AP.
